RESUMO

BACKGROUND: Malignant schwannoma is a rare tumor in the peripheral nervous system, accounting for approximately 5% to 10% of systemic soft tissue sarcomas. Especially, malignant schwannoma occurring in the broad ligament of the uterus with hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis is extremely rare in clinical practice. Here, we report the first case of an patient diagnosed with malignant peripheral nerve sheath tumor (MPNST) of the broad ligament of the uterus with hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis, and share our reference clinical diagnosis and treatment experience. CASE SUMMARY: A patient was diagnosed with MPNST of the uterus harboring hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis. She received combination, and repeated imaging revealed further encountered rare complications (hemophilia syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis) after two cycles of chemotherapy. Thereafter, combined treatment with pazopanib, gemcitabine, and dacarbazine was initiated. Unfortunately, the patient succumbed to death at hospital after two weeks. CONCLUSION: This report firstly provided reference clinical practice for a patient with MPNST of the uterus harboring hemophilic syndrome and bone marrow fibrosis. Our case raises a reminder about the tolerance and safety of combination therapy, especially in young women.

RESUMO

Two-dimensional (2D) materials have potential application and wide development prospects in photoelectron and spintronic devices. However, the properties of different growth conditions are challenging to study in the future. This, in turn, hinders further research into 2D materials and the manufacture of high-quality devices. A comprehensive understanding of the ultrafast laser spectroscopy and dynamics that take into account the substrate-transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) interaction is lacking. Here, the strain effect is elucidated by systematically investigating the interfacial interaction between different substrates and MoS2. The strain and interface engineering of MoS2/seeds layer heterointerface and light-matter coupling are discussed in the Raman and photoluminescence spectra. The dramatic enhanced PL originates from the phase transition of MoS2 on different substrates and electron-hole pairs dissociated by exciton screening effect. Finite-difference time-domain simulation confirmed that the electric field, magnetic field, and polarization field of the heterojunction system changed after the strain was applied. In addition, based on the dependence of physical parameters of MoS2, the relative numerical changes of physical parameters of MoS2 films on different substrates as well as the photoelectric transfer, strain, and charge doping levels on the surface or interface will provide a direction for optimizing the selection of various devices.

RESUMO

Two-dimensional lateral group-VIB transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs) have attracted much attention in the fast evolving field of advanced photoelectric functional materials, but their controllable fabrication is challenging. Herein, an emerging synthetic route for sulfurization of tungsten oxide was developed. During the hydrothermal reaction, the optimization of the precursor selection and synthesis parameters led to the tunable properties of WO3-WSxOy-WS2 nanostructures. The vulcanization was thermodynamically favorably at low temperatures and in an environment with a sufficient S source, wherein WO3 was reduced by H atoms to WO3-x, and S atoms were preferentially adsorbed on O vacancies. The WSxOy nanostructures have a narrow band-gap attributed to the effect of S on the valence band top and electronic density of states by density functional theory. The photocurrent response and charge transfer properties of WSxOy were improved due to the charge transport between WS2 and WO3. Understanding the formation and transformation of WS2 nanostructures in solution contributes to the discovery of the important structure-efficiency relationship, which may be extended to other TMDs systems. Hence, extensive research efforts are still needed to develop safer and more efficient synthesis and modification methods to fully utilize the distinctive advantageous properties of TMDs in the photoelectric field.

RESUMO

Objective: To review the research progress of reltionship between antitumor drugs and the dynamic changes of the skeletal muscles during treatment phase. Background: Sarcopenia is a common disease in patients with tumors, and it has been agreed that patients with tumors and sarcopenia experience more serious adverse reactions and have a shorter long-term survival after antitumor therapy than patients without sarcopenia. Antitumor drugs whilst beneficial for tumor regression, interferes and synergizes with cancer-induced muscle wasting/sarcopenia, induced myodemia or intramuscular fat and the two conditions often overlap making it difficult to drive conclusions. In recent years, increasing attention has been paid to the dynamic changes in skeletal muscles during antitumor drug therapy. Dynamic changes refer not only measurement skeletal muscle quantity at baseline level, but give more emphasis on the increasing or decreasing level during or end of the whole treatment course. Methods: We retrievaled published English-language original research articles via pubmed, those studies mainly focused on repeated measurements of skeletal muscle index using computed tomography (CT) in cancer patients who received antitumor drug treatment but not received interventions that produced muscle mass change (such as exercise and nutritional interventions). Conclusion: This article will summarize the research progress to date. Most of antineoplastic drug cause skeletal muscle loss during the treatment course, loss of L3 skeletal muscle index is always associated with poor clinical outcomes.

RESUMO

The application of livestock and poultry manures was the predominant source of heavy metals in agricultural soils, particularly in China. It is important to systematically compare the pollution characteristics, emission situations and mass loads for heavy metals in the manures of different livestock and poultry in China. According to analysis and estimation based on the reported concentration levels of eight heavy metals (Zn, Cu, Pb, Cd, Cr, Hg, As, and Ni) and the feed quantities of livestock (pig, cattle, and sheep) and poultry in 2017, the concentrations of Zn and Cu and the over-standard frequencies of Zn, Cu, Cd, and As were much higher than those of other heavy metals, especially in pig manure. In 2017, the total emission of livestock and poultry manure in China was 1.64 × 109 t (FW), which was mainly excreted from cattle (45.77%); while the total emission of heavy metals sourced from manures was 2.86 × 105 t (DW), with the predominant contribution originating from pig manure (71.52%). The highest mass loads of manures and heavy metals were observed in Shandong, Tianjin, Henan, and Shanghai, where heavy metal contamination may be occurring (especially for Zn and Cu). The heavy metal concentrations in livestock and poultry manures of China were similar to other countries; however, more heavy metals were discharged into agricultural land through manure (especially for Zn and Cu). For many countries, abundant Zn and Cu exist in agricultural soils, principally contributed by livestock and poultry manures. These heavy metals originate from their addition to livestock and poultry feeds. Therefore, reducing the addition of Zn and Cu in feeds is an effective measure to lower their input into agricultural soils.

RESUMO

During our screening program for agrochemicals from Chinese medicinal herbs and wild plants, the essential oil of Carum carvi fruits was found to possess strong contact toxicity against Sitophilus zeamais and Tribolium castaneum adults, with LD50 values of 3.07 and 3.29 µg/adult, respectively, and also showed strong fumigant toxicity against the two grain storage insects with LC50 values of 3.37 and 2.53 mg/L, respectively. The essential oil obtained by hydrodistillation was investigated by GC and GC-MS. The main components of the essential oil were identified to be (R)-carvone (37.98%) and D-limonene (26.55%) followed by α-pinene (5.21), cis-carveol (5.01%) and ß-myrcene (4.67%). (R)-Carvone and D-limonene were separated and purified by silica gel column chromatography and preparative thin layer chromatography, and further identified by means of physicochemical and spectrometric analysis. (R)-Carvone and D-limonene showed strong contact toxicity against S. zeamais (LD50 = 2.79 and 29.86 µg/adult) and T. castaneum (LD50 = 2.64 and 20.14 µg/adult). (R)-Carvone and D-limonene also possessed strong fumigant toxicity against S. zeamais (LC50 = 2.76 and 48.18 mg/L) and T. castaneum adults (LC50 = 1.96 and 19.10 mg/L).
